Before We Teach Your Child Anything, We Need to Understand What They Actually Know

The diagnostic assessment isn't a formality. It's a 90-minute session that reveals where your child truly stands — what's genuinely understood, what was memorised without understanding, and what was skipped entirely. This changes everything about how we teach them.

What Happens in the 90 Minutes

The diagnostic is a written assessment that tests concepts from your child's current grade AND previous grades. We're not checking if they can get the right answer — we're watching how they approach the problem.

Do they set it up correctly? Do they know which method to use? Where exactly does the thinking break down? Is the problem in algebra, or does it go deeper — to fractions, to integers, to basic number sense?

After the written part, we solve every question together with your child. This is not a pass/fail test. It's a conversation. Your child sees exactly where they went wrong and why. They experience how we teach — patient, step-by-step, focused on understanding rather than answers.

By the end of the session, three things are clear:

What You'll Know After the Diagnostic

Where the Gaps Actually Are

Not just "they're weak in algebra." We'll tell you specifically — they understand basic equations but break down when variables appear on both sides because fractions were never solid.

What Needs to Happen First

Foundation repair has an order. We identify exactly which concepts need to be rebuilt and in what sequence — so nothing is wasted.

Whether This Is the Right Fit

The diagnostic is as much for your child as it is for us. They experience how we teach. You see how we think. If it doesn't feel right for either side, that's completely fine.

What Happens After the Diagnostic

If we're the right fit, here's how the first month typically looks:

Week 1

The diagnostic. After the session, we discuss findings with you — specific gaps, recommended plan, batch timing, frequency.

Week 2

First classes begin. Not from the textbook, but from the foundation. We go back to exactly where things stopped making sense. This might feel slow. It isn't. This is the most important phase.

Week 3

Homework attempts start flowing in via WhatsApp photos. Your child comes back with specific questions — or stuck on something they couldn't crack. That's perfect. That's exactly what we want to see.

Week 4

You'll notice something shift. "I don't understand maths" becomes "I don't understand why we flip the inequality sign." That shift — from vague fear to precise doubt — is the first sign it's working.

What the Diagnostic Report Looks Like

After the 90-minute diagnostic evaluation, parents receive a detailed assessment document that goes far beyond a standard report card. Instead of basic percentages, we break down the student's mathematical foundation into specific areas:

Arithmetic Fluency

Speed and accuracy with basic operations, fractions, decimals, and integers

Algebraic Manipulation

Factorisation, simplification, equation-solving habits

Spatial Reasoning

Geometry intuition, diagram skills, coordinate understanding

Problem Solving

Ability to translate word problems into mathematical setups

The report pinpoints the exact areas where students get stuck — for example, not just saying they "struggle with fractions," but showing they have trouble finding common denominators with variables. We conclude the report with a specific, week-by-week repair plan to reconstruct their base knowledge.

Common Gaps We Find

Over years of teaching, incredibly consistent patterns emerge when it comes to weak basics. The rush to complete school syllabi often forces students forward before they are ready.

Class 10 students

Most CBSE and ICSE Class 10 students who struggle with advanced topics have gaps in Class 7–8 algebra — things like fractional manipulation and basic factorisation.

Class 9 students

Students transitioning to rigorous physics often show an inability to transpose formulas because they memorised linear arithmetic instead of understanding mathematical logic.

International board students

IGCSE and IB MYP students often struggle not with the concepts themselves, but with communicating their reasoning clearly — a skill that directly affects their grades.

Finding and fixing these exact gaps during the ₹750 assessment prevents a total collapse of confidence later on. Read more about how we teach once we've identified the gaps.

Is the Diagnostic Right for Your Child?

The diagnostic is useful for any student in Grades 6–12 who:

Scoring below potential

Is scoring below what they're capable of — they work hard but marks don't reflect it.

"I understood it in class"

Says "I understood it in class" but can't solve independently at home.

Multiple tuitions, no lasting change

Has been through multiple tuitions without lasting improvement.

Board exams approaching

Is about to enter Class 10 or Class 12 and you want an honest assessment before boards.

Recently changed boards

Has recently changed boards (e.g., State Board to CBSE, or CBSE to IGCSE).

Suspected foundational gaps

You suspect has foundational gaps from earlier years.

The diagnostic is also useful even if your child is performing well — it identifies areas of strength and hidden weaknesses before they become problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my child scores very poorly on the diagnostic?

That's not a problem — it's the point. The diagnostic exists to find gaps, not to judge. Many students who score low have simply been moved forward without understanding. The score tells us where to start, nothing more.

Do you share the results with my child?

Yes — we solve every question together with your child during the session. They see exactly where they went wrong and why. This is part of the learning, not just an evaluation.

Can the diagnostic be done online?

Yes. We conduct online diagnostics via video call. Your child writes the assessment, then we solve it together on screen. It works just as well.

What happens if we decide not to continue after the diagnostic?

That's completely fine. You still walk away with a clear understanding of where your child stands. The diagnostic has value on its own.

How long before we get the results?

The results are discussed immediately — we solve every question together with your child during the 90-minute session. There's no waiting period.

Is this available for all boards?

Yes — CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, IB MYP/DP, A Levels, and State Board. The diagnostic is adapted to your child's curriculum.
